ESCO Claims Request To Meet With NY DPS Staff Concerning Complaints That Led To Show Cause Order Went Unanswered
In an initial response to a show cause order, ABC Energy, LLC alleged that as it received complaints about a program bundling LED lighting with ESCO service (complaints which eventually led to the show cause order), ABC Energy requested a meeting with New York Department of Public Service Staff, but that such meeting request, "went unanswered."

In describing various remedial measures it undertook in response to initial complaints concerning the LED-supply bundled service, ABC Energy alleged, "In addition, on August 23, 2016, ABC Energy requested a meeting with DPS Staff in order to address the recent complaints. Unfortunately, that meeting request went unanswered."
In a statement responding to such claim, the New York PSC's press office said, "As far as we have determined, no such meeting was ever requested. Staff has a long standing policy of meeting with ESCOs upon request, for any reason. Meanwhile, we continue work to ensure that ESCOs are abiding by the rules and treating customers appropriately. We expect ABC as well as the other ESCOs who were ordered to show cause by the Commission to formally respond in the near future."
Noting additional measures it has taken since the show cause order (as more fully described in our story yesterday), ABC Energy said in its response to the show causer order that it, "stands ready to work with DPS Staff to address the concerns raised by the Show Cause Order, to allow this important value-added product to be supplied to commercial customers."
