Shell Energy North America (US), L.P. applied for an Ohio electric supplier license to serve mercantile and industrial customers in all service areas.

Shell Energy currently sells power to retail customers in five states, reporting its 2015 volumes as follows:

                           # of # of
State Volume (MWh) Customers Meters
CA 4,136,147 117 1,932
TX 1,402,301 9 224
NV, WA, OR 2,171,674 7 N/A

In addition to the states above, Shell is also licensed as a retail electric supplier in Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, New York, and Rhode Island

Shell said that estimated 2016 retail natural gas US volumes are estimated at 2,155,407,994 Mcf. Shell Energy’s retail gas business is extensive and covers most deregulated markets, the company said

Another Shell affiliate, Shell Energy Services Company, LLC had previously held an Ohio electric supplier license in the early days of restructuring, but the two-year license appears to have expired by operation of law without renewal in 2004.
