Pennsylvania Sees First Decline in Statewide Residential Shopping Since May

During September, Pennsylvania saw its first monthly decline in the number of residential electric customers on competitive supply since May.

Specifically, Pennsylvania saw the statewide number of residential electric customers on competitive supply decrease by 354 accounts from late August to late September, to 1,742,644 shoppers.

That compares to a statewide increase in residential shopping of over 2,000 accounts from late July to late August.

PPL continues to drag the statewide total, as PPL saw a decline of nearly 3,300 residential shoppers from August to September, an acceleration from a decline of 2,100 accounts during August.

The change in the number of residential customers on competitive supply at each utility from late August 2016 to late September 2016 (reporting date varies slightly by utility) was:
