Reporting by Paul Ring • ring@energychoicematters.com

On Oct. 18, 2016, the PJM Board of Managers approved the Members Committee-endorsed proposal for a new composite "stated rate" of 36 cents per megawatt-hour for two years (2017 and 2018), and then a 2.5 percent annual increase to 41 cents per MWh in 2024, to recover administrative costs

PJM had lowered its composite stated rate to 29 cents per MWh for a five-year period in 2011.

Stated rate is a fixed, long-term capped rate for the administrative costs of managing the grid and wholesale electricity markets.

PJM is preparing to file the proposed tariff change with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission in late October.

The changes are proposed to be effective January 1, 2017.
