The Public Utility Commission of Texas granted ERock On-Site LLC an Option 3 Texas retail electric provider certificate

An Option 3 REP is a REP that sells electricity exclusively to a retail customer other than a small commercial and residential customer from a distributed generation facility located on a site controlled by that customer.

ERock On-Site is affiliated with distributed generation and microgrid provider Enchanted Rock, Ltd., and Electranet Power, LLC, which holds an Option 2 REP certificate (service to customers 1 MW or larger providing an affidavit agreeing to such service)

Enchanted Rock, Ltd., through its Texas Microgrid LLC partnership with Balfour Beatty Infrastructure Partners LP (see story here), is providing some 45 H-E-B stores with its natural gas-powered microgrid solution (see story here).

It is believed that ERock On-Site is the first company to receive an Option 3 REP certificate. The Option 3 category was created in 2010.
