Reporting by Paul Ring • ring@energychoicematters.com

The FirstEnergy Pennsylvania utilities have filed new tariffed PTCDefault rates for commercial customers with the PUC for the three-month period starting December 1, 2016

The FirstEnergy PA EDCs had previously filed increases in the residential PTCDefault rates effective December 1 (click here for story), but updated commercial rates were not filed at that time

The PTCDefault rates are the all-in default service rates without the application of the State Tax Adjustment Surcharge (essentially, the PTC prior to application of the STAS), which is currently 0%. The STAS may change prior to the effective date of the new supply prices (or during their term), resulting in a different PTC.

At Met-Ed, the commercial PTCDefault rate will increase to 7.304¢/kWh effective December 1, from the current 6.957¢/kWh

At Penelec, the commercial PTCDefault rate will increase to 7.238¢/kWh effective December 1, from the current 6.899¢/kWh

At West Penn Power, the commercial PTCDefault rate will increase to 8.014¢/kWh effective December 1, from the current 7.986¢/kWh

At Penn Power, the commercial PTCDefault rate will increase to 8.410¢/kWh effective December 1, from the current 7.387¢/kWh

Official Prices to Compare have not yet been posted.
