Baltimore Gas & Electric has filed new SOS rates and posted certain SOS pricing information for the periods beginning December 1, 2016 and June 1, 2017

Consistent with historic practice, BGE has only filed updated tariffs reflecting new Type II SOS rates for the period beginning December 1, 2016. Procurements of SOS supply for residential and Type I SOS for the period beginning June 1, 2017 have been completed; however, BGE does not file tariff revisions of such rates until it receives settlement data to shape certain Time of Use rate classes.

While BGE has not yet filed formal tariff supplements for the June 1, 2017 residential and Type I rate, BGE has posted certain SOS rate information for this period as part of its Electric Supply Price Comparison Information. Given that the shaping only impacts SOS rates with a TOU component, the June 1, 2017 rates posted under Electric Supply Price Comparison Information should not change once a formal tariff is filed.

Specifically, under its Electric Supply Price Comparison Information, BGE lists the residential Rate R SOS rate (including transmission, excluding Rider 8 reconciliation) as 8.531¢/kWh. This is about 5 mills/kWh lower than the summer 2016 rates and winter 2016-17 rate, when excluding the Rider 8 impact. Additionally, note that transmission rates at BGE often change effective June 1, of each year, so the rate listed above may change as it includes the current transmission rate.

BGE now lists the residential Rate R SOS Weighted Average Supply Price as 9.050¢/kWh for the period Oct. 1, 2016 through Sep. 30, 2017

Under its Electric Supply Price Comparison Information, BGE lists the Rate G Type I SOS rate (including transmission, excluding Rider 8 reconciliation) as 8.096¢/kWh. This is about 5 mills/kWh lower than the summer 2016 rates and winter 2016-17 rate, when excluding the Rider 8 impact. Additionally, note that transmission rates at BGE often change effective June 1, of each year, so the rate listed above may change as it includes the current transmission rate.

BGE now lists the Rate G Type I SOS rate Weighted Average Supply Price as 8.684¢/kWh for the period Oct. 1, 2016 through Sep. 30, 2017

BGE has also posted "projected" generation rates for the period beginning June 1, 2017 (click here). This information includes the base generation rates only (excluding transmission) for the residential and Type I classes information listed above (providing the rates without the impact of the transmission rate which may change by June 1, 2017).

BGE's Type II SOS rates for the period beginning December 1, 2016 are below. These rates include both generation AND transmission but do not include reconciliation (Rider 8)
