Dynegy: Retail Strategy Focused On Organic Growth, "Not Right Time" For Retail Acquisitions

Dynegy's retail strategy will be focused on organic growth between now and 2018, Dynegy CEO Bob Flexon said during an earnings call
"Right now, the goal around retail will be to grow it just organically," Flexon said
"We are going to move into Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, compete on some of the aggregation-type opportunities that we see in the very near future," Flexon said of the retail business
"[G]oing out and pursuing any large-scale retail, we've had the opportunity to look at that in the past, and it's just not the right time for us," Flexon said
Flexon agreed with an analyst that a larger retail book would be helpful in hedging Dynegy's fleet, but Flexon said scaling up the retail book to match its generation portfolio size is not a top priority right now.
