Nstar Residential, Commercial Default Service Rates To Increase 25%-33%

Nstar (Eversource Energy) filed basic service electric rates with the Massachusetts DPU for the period beginning January 1, 2017

Separate from the results of its default service procurement, Nstar has pending before the DPU customary updates to other bypassable riders which are included in the total basic service rates.

Including the pending updates various basic service cost components, for Nstar residential customers, the fixed January 1, 2017 to June 30, 2017 basic service rate is 10.318¢/kWh, or about 33% higher than the current rate of 7.7¢/kWh

Complete proposed Nstar basic service rates are below, in ¢/kWh. The rates include the Basic Service Adder, the Smart Grid Adder, and the NSTAR Green Adder. Rates are presented both with existing amounts for the Basic Service Adder, the Smart Grid Adder, and the NSTAR Green Adder, and new amounts for the adders proposed to take effect.
