Ohio Posts Results of AEP Ohio Default Service Auction
The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) accepted the results of AEP Ohio’s Nov. 7, 2016 default service auction that will ultimately determine its standard service offer through May 2018.
The auction procured 17 tranches of supply for the delivery period of June 1, 2017 to May 31, 2018 and resulted in an average clearing price of $49.78 per megawatt-hour (MWh). The results will be blended with previous auctions to establish a price-to-compare for AEP Ohio’s customers during the delivery period.
During the Nov. 7 auction, five suppliers (of 13 registered bidders) submitted winning bids
The names of the winning bidders will remain confidential for 21 days.
