For 2017, Stream is working to design plans that allow customers to "mix and match" energy supply along with additional products or recurring services, moving beyond bundling simply one product with its energy plans or offering services separately a la carte.

As first reported by EnergyChoiceMatters.com, Stream recently launched two new product bundles -- a plan bundling energy supply with a free SkyBell Video Doorbell (available in Texas and Georgia), and a plan bundling energy supply with free identity protection service (in most of Stream's markets).

The SkyBell Video Doorbell bundle builds on Stream's existing plans bundling a free physical product or equipment with energy supply, following the launch of bundles which include a free Honeywell Lyric Smart Thermostat (see story here) or a free Skydrop sprinkler controller (see story here). Stream confirmed to EnergyChoiceMatters.com that the company will expand the SkyBell Video Doorbell bundle beyond Texas and Georgia to Stream's other markets

The new plan bundling energy supply with free identity protection service as part of the per kWh rate is a notable milestone for Stream in that it is the company's first plan which bundles energy supply with a monthly recurring service, rather than a physical equipment product (e.g. a smart thermostat).

Stream currently offers a host of non-energy recurring services on a non-bundled basis, including wireless, home phone, virtual MD, roadside assistance, credit monitoring, and tech support, and the company intends to not only create new energy supply plans bundling supply with one of these services, but to allow customers to mix and match products and services to include energy supply, recurring services, and a physical product in a single bundle.

"We're going to continue, over the coming quarters, to introduce new bundles to the marketplace combining these different services," Greg Martin, Senior Vice President and General Manager-Energy at Stream told EnergyChoiceMatters.com

Apart from its existing service lines, Stream cited home security as another service which it is evaluating offering in the future, Ryan Cramer, Director and General Manager - Protective & Home Services at Stream, told EnergyChoiceMatters.com

"What we're working on for 2017 is the ability for customers to create their own package bundle that's specific to them," Martin said, allowing customers to personalize their own equipment selections.

Martin noted that Stream is already seeing customers seeking additional equipment products as part of Stream's existing offerings -- such as customers seeking a plan that includes two smart thermostats in the bundle, or one that includes both a smart thermostat plus another product

Stream is tailoring the rollout of new bundles seasonally to match services which may be most attractive to customers during such time

For example, November was selected as the time to launch the SkyBell Video Doorbell energy supply bundle due to increased customer concern during the holidays about the security of their package delivery and visitors at their doorstep.

Cramer sees a plan bundling energy supply and Stream's Virtual MD service launching this spring, and, as the weather warms and customers turn to summer travel, Cramer sees the company launching a plan bundling roadside assistance and energy
