Update: BGE Files Summer 2017 SOS Rates, Prices To Fall

Baltimore Gas & Electric has filed tariff supplements to implement summer 2017 electric SOS rates.

BGE had previously filed indicative generation rates for the period June 1, 2017 through September 30, 2017, but did not formally file the proposed new SOS rates because, as is practice, the utility was awaiting load shaping data for certain TOU rate classes

For residential customers, BGE's SOS rate (including transmission but excluding Rider 8) for June 1, 2017 to Sept. 30, 2017 (based on current transmission rates) is 8.494 cents per kWh, versus the rate of 8.953 cents per kWh to be in effect from January 1, 2017 to May 31, 2017

BGE's new SOS rates are below, in cents per kWh. A generation rate (without transmission) and a rate with transmission is listed. Note that transmission rates typically change effective June 1 of each year, and the amounts for transmission shown here show _existing_ transmission rates, as filed on BGE's tariff. All rates below do not include bypassable Rider 8 (reconciliation)

Also note that rates have changed versus prior indicative rates due to changes in various adders to the SOS rate (see story)
