Retail Supplier Launches Affinity Program With PetSmart Charities
XOOM Energy, LLC announced a new relationship with PetSmart Charities, which XOOM said is the largest funder of animal welfare in North America.
Under XOOM Energy's 5 Saves Lives campaign, XOOM Energy is offering customers in its U.S. markets a 12-month fixed plan called RescueLock 12, under which five percent of each customer’s monthly XOOM Energy charges will be donated to PetSmart Charities.
In the Oncor service area, XOOM's RescueLock 12 plan has an average all-in rate of 10.3¢/kWh (at 1,000 kWh), which includes a monthly base charge of $4.99. An early termination fee of $225 applies.
XOOM said that each donation made to PetSmart Charities helps fund initiatives such as adoptions at PetSmart stores and other locations, rescue programs, spay and neuter surgeries, emergency relief, and service animal and pet therapy training programs.
XOOM Energy's 5 Saves Lives is the first time PetSmart Charities has worked with an energy company to generate donations.
