Update, January 24:

The PSC said in a statement that Chair Audrey Zibelman will remain through the Commission’s March session [editorial note: the March session is scheduled for March 16]. Chair Zibelman’s departure will have no impact on the Commission’s ability to make regulatory decisions, the PSC said

"It has been a great honor to serve in Governor Cuomo’s administration, and I am forever grateful to have played a part in bringing the Governor’s highly lauded vision of a clean-energy economy to fruition," Zibelman said in a statement. "Thanks to the Governor’s leadership, New York State is on a pathway to achieve 50 percent renewable electricity by 2030 and create an affordable, clean and resilient power system for all New Yorkers. It has been an immense privilege to work with my colleagues in the Governor’s Office, on the Commission and the dedicated, capable Department of Public Service Staff. I have no doubt the Governor’s administration will continue to lead the nation in fighting climate change and creating a future powered by clean, renewable energy."
