Regulator Seeks Comments Regarding Default Service Procurement Practices, Methodology

The Connecticut PURA has issued a request for comments concerning a review and any amendments to the Power Procurement Plan for Standard Service and Last Resort Service

The state's Power Procurement Manager had requested that the proceeding be re-reopened, as is customary, for the purposes of amending and reviewing the currently used Power Procurement Plan. In such request, the Power Procurement Manager did not specify any proposed modifications.

Currently, the procurements for Standard Service rely heavily on competitively bid full requirements contracts, but allows for a significant percentage of load to be self-managed by the distribution companies (up to 30% at times at CL&P)
