PUCO Approves Results of FirstEnergy Ohio Default Service Auction

The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) accepted the results of the FirstEnergy EDCs' wholesale auction that will be blended with prior procurements to ultimately determine the EDCs' Standard Service Offer through May 2018.

The Jan. 31, 2017 auction resulted in an average clearing price of $52.03 per megawatt-hour (MWh) for the delivery period of June 1, 2017 to May 31, 2018. The results will be blended with previous auctions to establish a price-to-compare for the FirstEnergy Ohio EDC customers during the delivery period.

During the Jan. 31, 2017 auction, five suppliers submitted winning bids for 16 tranches of the one-year product.

The names of the winning bidders will remain confidential for 21 days.
