Regulator Sets Status Conference On Consumer Advocate's Petition To Investigate Retail Suppliers' Alleged "Abusive" Practices, Potential Low-Income Shopping Ban
The Connecticut PURA has scheduled for March 8 a status conference concerning the Office of Consumer Counsel's petition for PURA, "open a proceeding investigating the effects of abusive electric supplier marketing practices on vulnerable populations."
In such petition, OCC noted that General Statutes § 16- 245o(m) authorizes PURA to require that all hardship customers be served on default service, and not be permitted to be served by electric suppliers

The purpose of the March 8 status conference, "is for the parties or their representatives to discuss the issues for adjudication and to set prehearing and hearing procedures."
"Parties should also be prepared to discuss how the issues raised by OCC relate to Docket 14-07-20RE01, PURA Development and Implementation of Marketing Standards and Sales Practices by Electric Suppliers – Revised Standards," PURA said
