Reporting by Paul Ring • ring@energychoicematters.com

Pennsylvania's net increase in the aggregate number of residential electric customers on competitive supply was nearly identical to January's growth.

From late January 2017 to late February 2017 (reporting date varies slightly by utility), Pennsylvania saw the aggregate number of electric customers on competitive supply increase by nearly 1,700 accounts, which was about essentially the same growth seen from late December 2016 to late January 2017

PPL continues to see residential electric shopping decline month to month, as does Duquesne Light.

While still seeing overall growth during February, PECO's residential shopping growth slowed significantly, to an increase of less than 300 accounts, versus growth of 1,200 accounts during January. Increases at certain of the FirstEnergy EDCs offset this slower growth at PECO on an aggregate basis

The change in the number of residential customers on competitive supply at each utility from late January 2017 to late February 2017 (reporting date varies slightly by utility) was:

Duquesne Light (698)
Met-Ed 1,488
PECO 270
Penelec 961
Penn Power 387
PPL (1,622)
West Penn Power 919

For comparison, the change in the number of residential customers on competitive supply at each utility from late December 2016 to late January 2017 (reporting date varies slightly by utility) was:

Duquesne Light (609)
Met-Ed 1,836
PECO 1,194
Penelec 361
Penn Power 332
PPL (1,450)
West Penn Power 11
