Ohio Approves Results From Default Service Auction
The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) accepted the results of Duke Energy Ohio’s fifth wholesale auction that will determine its retail generation service rates through May 2018.
The auction produced an average clearing price of $50.71 per megawatt-hour (MWh) for 17 tranches of supply for the delivery period of June 1, 2017 to May 31, 2018.
The results from this auction will be blended with previous auctions to determine Duke’s price-to-compare for the delivery period of June 1, 2017 through May 31, 2018.
There were six winning bidders in the auction held March 20, 2017. The names of the winning bidders will remain confidential for 21 days.
