Ohio PUC Chair: We Need To "Tie Up" Disparate Pending Retail Market Enhancements (POR, Supplier Consolidated Billing, Etc.)

The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio needs to, "tie up," several disparate proposed or pending retail energy market enhancements, PUCO Chairman Asim Haque told attendees at the National Energy Marketers Association's 20th Annual National Energy Restructuring Conference

Haque noted that various retail enhancements, such as POR, supplier consolidated billing, billing of non-commodity services on utility bills, and warm transfer, have been proposed or otherwise addressed in various litigated cases before PUCO (e.g. as part of electric security plan settlements), but noted there has been no comprehensive vision from the Commission on these matters

"There is recognition from me that we have got to tie these up," Haque said

"At the very least, our retail community deserves some certainty," on retail enhancements, Haque said

While not intentional, Haque said that it was fortuitous in a way that final consideration of the retail enhancements has been delayed, as they may now be considered as part of Ohio's customer-focused grid modernization proceeding
