TXU Pairing Free Nights, Solar Power In New Product
TXU has launched a new residential product (TXU Energy Free Nights & Solar Days) pairing free nights with 100% renewable power, comprised of solar and wind RECs
The plan includes no energy charges and no TDU charges for usage from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. every day
Under the plan, TXU provides solar power to customers all day from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
In the Oncor service area, TXU's Free Nights & Solar Days plan is offered with a term of 18 months (defined as an indexed plan), with an average all-in fixed rate, at 1,000 kWh, of 13.7¢/kWh.
This reflects a base charge of $9.95 per month, a fixed energy charge of 14.8¢/kWh, and a pass-through of TDU charges
An early termination fee of $295 applies
TXU said that under its various free nights plans, in 2016, customers on these plans received nearly 40 percent of their energy usage for free.
