ERCOT Issues Determination Regarding Whether STEC Units Needed For RMR
On May 1, 2017 ERCOT received a Notification of Suspension of Operations (NSO) for the following Generation Resources: South Texas Electric Cooperative, Inc. (RE) – PEARSALL_PEARS_1, PEARSALL_PEARS_2, PEARSALL_PEARS_3 (Pearsall Units 1, 2, and 3)
The proposed effective date for the suspension of South Texas Electric Cooperative, Inc. (RE) – PEARSALL_PEARS_1, PEARSALL_PEARS_2, PEARSALL_PEARS_3 (Pearsall Units 1, 2, and 3) is August 1, 2017.
Pursuant to requirements under ERCOT Protocols Section 3.14.1.2 (3), ERCOT issued an initial determination that these Generation resources are not required to support ERCOT transmission system reliability. Pursuant to Section 3.14.1.2 (5), such notice will also serve as the final determination, and the resource may be decommissioned according to the schedule in the NSO.
