LS Power Affiliate Launches Retail Electric Offers In Texas, With 0¢ Energy Charge For Energy Supply Usage At Or Under 1,000 kWh, With No REP Monthly Fee

Essentially Giving Away Free Supply For Customers Using 1,000 kWh Or Less, With Only TDU Fees Charged

Updated: 6/15: The offers with a 0¢/kWh charge for energy supply are no longer being offered without a REP monthly fee. At Oncor, LifeEnergy's 12 and 24 mo. fixed plans now have an avg. all-in rate of 6.8 cents per kWh at 1,000 kWh (10.3¢ at 500 kWh, 10.4¢ at 2,000 kWh), reflecting the following charges:

• Energy Charge: 0.00¢ per kWh (0-1,000 kWh)

• Energy Charge: 10.70¢ per kWh (≥1,001 kWh)

• Monthly Base Charge: $29.99 per billing cycle

• TDU Energy Delivery Charges: $5.25 per billing cycle and 3.286¢ per kW

Earlier (6/14):

LifeEnergy, an affiliate of LS Power, announced today that it is now offering residential and commercial electricity plans in Texas.

LifeEnergy is now offering service at Oncor, CenterPoint Energy Houston Electric, AEP Texas Central, AEP Texas North, Texas-New Mexico Power, and Sharyland Utilities.

"Entering Texas represents a key milestone for LifeEnergy. Texas is the largest retail electricity market in the U.S. and represents a major step forward in our plans to become a national leader in competitive retail energy," said LifeEnergy VP of Sales and Marketing, Dan Sullivan.

On Power to Choose, in the Oncor service area, LifeEnergy is offering a 12-month and a 24-month fixed rate plan, each with an average all-in rate, at 1,000 kWh, of 3.8¢/kWh (4.3¢/kWh at 500 kWh, and 8.9¢/kWh at 2,000 kWh) and identical pricing parameters.

Per the EFLs listed on Power to Choose, these LifeEnergy fixed offers listed on Power to Choose in the Oncor service area reflect an Energy Charge of 0.00¢/kWh for usage 0-1,000 kWh, an Energy Charge of 10.70¢/kWh for usage ≥1,001 kWh, a Monthly Base Charge of $0.00 per billing cycle, and TDU Delivery Charges of $5.25 per billing cycle and 3.286¢ per kWh

On its website, in the Oncor service area, LifeEnergy is offering customers a 12, 24, and 36-month fixed rate.

LifeEnergy's 12-month fixed rate at Oncor as offered on the LifeEnergy website includes an average all-in rate, at 1,000 kWh, of 8.1¢/kWh, reflecting an Energy Charge of 4.30¢/kWh, a monthly Energy Usage Fee of $9.95 for usage from 0 to 800 kWh, and TDU charges of $5.25 per billing cycle and 3.286¢/kWh

A $175 early termination fee applies to all of the 12 and 24 month products listed above.

With the addition of Texas, LifeEnergy now serves residential and commercial electricity customers in seven states, including Pennsylvania, Illinois, Ohio, Maryland, New Jersey, Delaware, plus the District of Columbia.
