Retail Supplier Parent Launches Own-Branded Connected Home Camera

Leak Sensor, New Active Hub To Debut This Fall

Hive Camera features 24/7 live HD streaming capabilities, controlled and accessed from its own mobile app and includes built-in two-way audio

Hive Camera contains a sensor enabling a variety of features, including motion and audio detection, while the camera itself has a broad angle of view and also offers night vision. It can be set to record all movement, logging time and date, storing information locally to be easily retrieved via the mobile app. The camera can zoom in remotely, with the user being able to trigger one of three sounds – a police siren, a dog bark or a ringing alarm.

Available for purchase in the UK starting June 29 for £129, Hive Camera will also form part of Hive Home Check – a Hive monthly subscription package.

At an upcoming investor day, Centrica will also showcase alongside two other connected devices, Hive Leak Sensor and Hive Active Hub, which will be available later this year.

Hive Leak Sensor monitors water flow in the home, while Hive Active Hub combines an intelligent audio sensor, able to monitor the home for significant sounds, with a more powerful hub in one device. These innovations will enable future services, such as alerting customers to a potential leak or a smoke alarm going off, Centrica said.

Both Hive Leak Sensor and Hive Active Hub, along with a further extension to the Hive Camera portfolio, will be available from autumn onwards.
