State Expands Rescission Period To 11 Business Days For Certain Marketing Channels
The New Hampshire PUC has extended the rescission period for retail electric sales, with certain marketing channels subject to even longer rescission period
In adopting final revisions, for legislative review, to the retail electric marketing rules, the PUC replaced the current rescission period (which varied from 3 business days to five business days) with the following:
a. Within 5 business days from the date the customer electronically receives the terms of service [previously was 3 business days]
b. Within 6 business days from the postmarked date of the terms of service agreement being mailed to the customer by first class mail [previously was 5 business days]
c. Within 10 business days from the date a residential customer electronically receives the terms of service, if the customer was enrolled through an in-person solicitation at the customer's residence [new]
d. Within 11 business days from the postmarked date of the terms of service agreement being mailed to a residential customer by first class mail, if the customer was enrolled through an in-person solicitation at the customer's residence [new]
The rescission period applies to residential and small commercial customers
