Another Ugly Month Of Declines In Residential Customers On Competitive Electric Supply In Pennsylvania
Pennsylvania saw the net decrease in the number of residential electric customers on competitive supply increase 50% during August, versus the decline seen in July
From late July 2017 to late August 2017 (reporting date varies slightly by utility), Pennsylvania saw the aggregate number of electric customers on competitive supply decrease by nearly 14,000 accounts, versus a decline of 9,200 accounts from late June 2017 to late July 2017
The August decline was the largest net monthly decline in statewide residential electric shopping since September 2015 (when a net decline of 22,000 accounts was recorded)
Six of the seven large EDCs saw a decline in the number of residential customers on competitive supply from July to August
PPL saw its fourth consecutive month of net growth in the number of residential customers on competitive supply, but the August growth (820) was still significantly below the recent June growth (2,500) [PPL July growth had been 600]
