Reporting by Paul Ring • ring@energychoicematters.com

Public Service Company of New Hampshire (Eversource) has filed a forecast for a decrease in its energy service rate (default service), effective January 1

As is customary, PSNH did not request approval of a specific rate at this time, but will do so when updating its forecasts in December

However, on an indicative basis, PSNH currently estimates that the rate to be effective on January 1, 2018 will be 10.50 cents per kilowatt-hour, including bypassable scrubber-related costs. This is 10% lower than the current default service rate (including scrubber costs) of 11.66 cents per kilowatt-hour.

The preliminary January 1, 2018 default service rate reflects a forecast base rate of 8.78 cents per kWh plus the unchanged bypassable scrubber rate of 1.72 cents per kWh
