Stream has launched a new electricity plan for residential customers in Texas that offers a flat monthly price for a user-selected block of usage

Stream's new "Your Plan" product allows customers to purchase a "block" of power at the time of enrollment at a flat dollar amount for each billing cycle for the term of the plan. If, in any given billing period, the customer's usage exceeds the block purchased for that billing period, an additional, pre-determined, fixed volumetric charge (inclusive of TDU fees) set forth in the EFL will apply

In the Oncor service area, Stream, is offering blocks as follows:

500 kWh block: $50/month
Additional usage billed at 13.0¢/kWh

1000 kWh block: $85/month
Additional usage billed at 12.9¢/kWh

1500 kWh block: $128/month
Additional usage billed at 12.8¢/kWh

2000 kWh block: $170/month
Additional usage billed at 12.7¢/kWh

2500 kWh block: $215/month
Additional usage billed at 12.6¢/kWh

Example: Customer purchases the 500 block plan for $50 per month. In Month A, customer uses 450 kWh. The customer will only be billed $50. In Month B, the customer uses 550 kWh. The customer will pay $50 for 500 kWh used plus 13.0 cents/kWh for each additional kWh (i.e. 50 multiplied by 13.0 cents/kWh)

In the Oncor service area, the 1,000 kWh block plan has an average all-in rate, at 1,000 kWh usage, of 8.5¢.kWh

Stream's Your Plan is a 12-month fixed plan, and includes a $250 early termination fee

On its website, Stream says of the new Your Plan, "Take the guesswork out of budgeting by taking control of how much you pay for energy each billing cycle. Choose a usage block that best suits your needs and pay a flat dollar amount each billing cycle for 12 months, as long as you don't exceed your maximum monthly block."
