New York Approves Territory-Wide Deployment Of Advanced Meters At New Utility

The New York PSC has approved the territory-wide deployment of advanced meters for all electricity and natural gas customers at Orange and Rockland

The PSC had previously authorized AMI installation in O&R's Rockland County service area, where more than 23,000 meters have been installed so far.

Under the now-approved territory-wide deployment, Orange and Rockland will replace, with AMI, approximately 116,500 electric and 92,000 gas meters in Rockland County, along with 113,000 electric and 42,500 gas meters in Orange and Sullivan counties starting in the third quarter of 2018.
