Texas Retail Provider Launches New Brand, Focused On Affinity Approach, Charity Donations

Volterra Energy Holdings LLC (VEH) announced the launch of a new Texas retail electric brand: Volterra Energy.

The new brand, "will offer competitive electricity packages with a unique philanthropic approach," the company said

Volterra said that for each customer that signs up, Volterra Energy makes a contribution to a nonprofit partnering with the company.

Currently, Volterra Energy has affinity and other relationships with 10 nonprofit organizations, including: Bo’s Place, Laurel’s Army Foundation, Kids’ Meals, Champions Kids Camp, Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation, Comp-U-Dopt, Northwest Assistance Ministries, Sunshine Kids, Child Advocates of Fort Bend, and CRY America. New charities are added to Volterra Energy’s donation list on an ongoing basis driven by customer recommendations, the company said

Volterra Energy offers residential and commercial plans, as well as tailored affinity programs.

In the Oncor service area, Volterra is offering a suite of fixed rates, ranging from 12-36 months in length, with and without 100% renewable energy. All of the products include a one-time $50 donation to an affinity charity for enrollment

In the Oncor service area, as listed on Volterra's website, Volterra's Brighten The World 12 plan is a 12-month fixed rate with an average all-in fixed rate (at 1,000 kWh usage) of 8.6 cents per kWh, which reflects a fixed energy charge of 4.43 cents per kWh, Oncor charges of $5.25 per month and 3.65 cents per kWh, with no monthly base charge. A $50 credit is applied on the first bill. The product includes an early termination fee of $149.

The VEH portfolio of retail brands includes Volterra Energy, Discount Power, and Power Express, all of which are retail electricity providers (REPs) that offer tailored electricity packages to customers across Texas.
