With Transition Of Sharyland Customers To Oncor, Some Retail Providers Will No Longer Have POLR Obligation

Staff of the Public Utility Commission of Texas said that, as Sharyland Utilities will no longer be operating as a distribution service provider due to the acquisition of Sharyland's service areas by Oncor, "Staff is filing the attached updated Provider of Last Resort Designated Large Service Provider List to remove the Sharyland McAllen and Sharyland Utilities service areas and will update the Commission's website accordingly."

Several retail electric providers who had been designated as non-volunteer POLRs (LSPs) at Sharyland Utilities and/or Sharyland McAllen were not designated as non-volunteer POLRs for the prior Oncor service area, and, as a result of the merger, will no longer have a POLR obligation with respect to the (former) Sharyland customers (the REPs may or may not have existing obligations in other service areas).

For example, the following REPs had been designated as non-volunteer POLRs for either Sharyland Utilities or Sharyland McAllen for the residential class, but had not been designated as non-volunteer POLRs for the Oncor residential class:
