The New Hampshire PUC has approved a default energy service rate at Public Service Company of New Hampshire (Eversource) for the three-month period January through March 2018

For the three-month period January through March 2018,the PUC approved a PSNH default energy service rate of 11.25 cents per kWh, a reduction of 0.41 cents per kWh from the current rate of 11.66 cents per kWh. Both rates include the unchanged bypassable scrubber rate of 1.72 cents per kWh

PSNH had previously forecast a 2018 default service rate of 10.50 cents per kilowatt-hour. The increase versus the earlier forecast results from a higher under-recovery and higher fossil costs.

The use of a three-month rate for the initial part of 2018 contemplates that Eversource will be able to go to the competitive market to secure default power supply for the period beginning April 1, 2018
