Reliant Officially Announces Plan Bundling Google Home, Nest Thermostat (First Reported By ECM In November)

Also Launches Reliant Actions for Google Assistant, Allowing Inquiries On Balance, Plan Details

Reliant yesterday officially announced its Speak & Save plan in Texas, which includes in a bundle a Nest Thermostat E and Google Home

EnergyChoiceMatters.com had exclusively first reported Reliant's offering of an earlier iteration of the new plan in November (see story here), with such earlier iteration including a Google Home Mini, Nest Thermostat E, and a 12-month term

Reliant's Speak & Save plan is now offered for a 24 month term with a standard Google Home, powered by the Google Assistant, and Nest Thermostat E

The Speak & Save 24 plan is a 24-month fixed plan that, in the Oncor service area, has a fixed Energy Charge of 6.0¢ per kWh, a $0 base charge, and Oncor TDU charges of $3.49 per month and 3.6971¢ per kWh. At 1,000 kWh usage, the average all-in rate is 10.0¢ per kWh, in the Oncor service area

The plan includes at no additional charge a Nest Thermostat E and Google Home

The Nest Thermostat E is valued at $169

Google Home is valued at $129, and can control your Nest Thermostat E and accomplish daily tasks, all through natural voice commands. Google Home users can control more than 1,000 smart home devices from over 150 brands with just their voice. Using only a simple voice command, users can get the latest on weather, traffic, finance, sports, local businesses, and more, or play music and their own personal playlists from popular online services.

The plan has an early termination fee of $295

Reliant also announced the launch of its Actions for Google Assistant, the company’s latest step to give customers the tools and information to better manage their energy use and help simplify their lives. Customers can now manage their Reliant account by giving their Google Assistant the following commands: Hey Google, ask Reliant about my... "plan details," "account balance" or "energy usage."
