BGE To Include In Evaluation Of Prepaid Pilot The Impact On Retail Choice, Customer Switching Between SOS, Retail Supply

As part of its evaluation plan of a prepaid pilot that has been approved by the Maryland PSC (see story here), Baltimore Gas & Electric has reported to the PSC that it will include, among other things, an evaluation of the impact of the pilot on retail choice.

BGE submitted to the PSC an evaluation plan that will seek to, "[u]nderstand if and how prepaid furthers policy goals of the State of Maryland including ... Impact on retail choice, including the extent of customer switching between SOS and retail supply."

BGE also informed the PSC that, approximately one month after the end of the Prepaid Pilot, BGE will provide all relevant key pilot program data, stripped of personally identifiable customer information, to Commission Staff and stakeholders. A working group will continue to discuss the specific data points and reporting intervals.

BGE reported that it spent a large part of one stakeholder meeting focusing on supplier issues.

"After that meeting, the suppliers committed to convene among themselves, and identify the types of information they would like to gain from the Prepaid Pilot, and raise those issues at a later date. BGE commits to continue meeting with interested stakeholders to discuss those issues and others," BGE said
