Pepco SOS Rates to Decrease
Pepco has filed with the District of Columbia PSC new SOS electric generation rates for the period of June 1, 2018 through May 31, 2019.
For Residential R customers, the new SOS generation rates are about 5 mills per kWh lower than the SOS kWh generation rates in the comparable year-ago seasonal period, and the Minimum Charge is about 15¢ lower per month.
For GS - ND customers, the new SOS generation rates are about 5 mills per kWh lower than the SOS kWh generation rates in the comparable year-ago seasonal period
The November 2018 to May 2019 GS – LV rate will increase marginally, and GS 3A rates will increase by about 7 mills per kWh, versus the comparable year-ago period
Pepco is proposing no change to the Administrative Charge for Residential, Small Commercial and Large Commercial SOS classes. Pepco proposes a decrease in the Administrative Charge for Market Price Service from $0.0079089 per kWh to $0.0075156 per kWh.
Pursuant to the Tax Cut and Job Act of 2017, Pepco has reduced its tax on the SOS margin calculation from 35% to 21% effective June 1, 2018. Pepco will also reduce the amount of the tax on the margin calculation for January 1, 2018 to May 31, 2018 and include that amount in next year's administrative charge true up.
Pepco-D.C. SOS rates below reflect only the generation charge, and do not include transmission or the bypassable procurement cost adjustment. Note that the rates below are proposed and are reproduced as-filed on February 12, with rates subject to PSC approval; in the past Pepco has corrected the rates after the initial filing.
