Pennsylvania Sees 10th Consecutive Month Of Declining Aggregate Residential Customers on Competitive Supply
January 2018 marked the 10th consecutive month that Pennsylvania has seen an aggregate decline in the number of residential electric customers on competitive supply
Statewide, from late December 2017 to late January 2018 (reporting date varies slightly by utility), Pennsylvania saw the aggregate number of electric customers on competitive supply decrease by over 8,900 accounts, versus a decline of 6,800 accounts from late November to late December.
Duquesne Light was the only large EDC to see an increase in the number of residential accounts on competitive supply from late December to late January, with an increase of nearly 300 accounts.
PPL, which had in December seen its first monthly decline in the number of residential accounts on competitive supply since April 2017, saw a second consecutive monthly decline, losing a net of nearly 1,400 residential accounts on competitive supply during January
