The New York PSC has approved electric tariff changes filed by Consolidated Edison Company of New York, Inc. (ConEdison or ConEd) to eliminate interval data charges for Energy Service Companies (ESCOs) and Direct Customers, to reflect policies adopted by the Commission in orders issued on April 20, 2016 and May 19, 2016 in Case 14-M-0101.

Under the prior electricity tariff, ConEdison charged ESCOs for historical interval data, if requested, which is provided by a paper report, computer disk, or email. The charges imposed by the company for this service were specified in General Rule 17.1 – Special Services Performed by the Company at a Charge.

Under the adopted tariff filing, ConEdison has eliminated these charges.

Additionally, ConEdison provides interval meter data for the current billing cycle to ESCOs and Direct Customers online for customer accounts with interval meters that have operating telemetry capability. This information is made available via the Internet on a one-day lag without charge at the end of the current billing cycle. Using the same internet application, ESCOs and Direct Customers can access historical interval meter data for the immediately preceding 24 months without a fee.

ConEd further offers ESCOs and Direct Customers the option to retrieve current interval meter data more frequently for a fee. Under the prior tariff, the daily access fee was $241.00 per year and the weekly access fee was $27.00 per year. ConEdison has eliminated the charges for daily/weekly interval data access under the approved tariff
