NOPEC Providing $9 Million In Rate Credits To Aggregation Customers
The following story is brought free of charge to readers by EC Infosystems, the exclusive EDI provider of EnergyChoiceMatters.com
NOPEC announced that its nearly 500,000 electric customers will receive a reduced rate on the generation portion of their electric bills this spring, or separate mailed checks, reflecting $9 million in rate credits.
On average, the rate credits will equate to nearly $18 for residential customers and about $39 for small business accounts over the program period.
About $5.4 million of the $9 million comes from NOPEC’s settlement with its former electric supplier FirstEnergy Solutions. In late 2016, FirstEnergy Solutions terminated its contract to provide electricity to NOPEC customers three years early.
Customers will receive the credits as follows:
NOPEC's Program Price (Option 1) Customers:
The rate reductions will be reflected on the customer's March to June electric bills.
NOPEC's Variable Price (Option 2) Customers:
The customer's rate will not change. Instead, NOPEC will send checks equaling $18 for each active residential account and $39 for each of the customer's active commercial accounts, if applicable.
