The following story is brought free of charge to readers by EC Infosystems, the exclusive EDI provider of EnergyChoiceMatters.com
Intuit Inc., maker of TurboTax, QuickBooks, ProConnect and Mint, has announced a new program, Purely Green, that will share its corporate wind power procurement in Texas with commercial and residential customers.
Intuit has teamed up with retail energy provider Just Energy to launch the plan, which is aimed at Intuit's customers, employees, and business partners
Intuit said that Purely Green is designed to offer "discounted" renewable electricity to hundreds of thousands of electricity customers across Texas. The renewable energy and renewable energy credits will be sourced from EDP Renewables’ (EDPR) Lone Star II Wind Farm located near Abilene, TX.
Houston-based Renewable Power Direct (RPD), a green energy marketer, worked with Intuit and Just Energy to structure the program and to source the physical wind power from EDPR.
"This program enables Texas residents to leverage Intuit’s buying power to access discounted green power for their homes and businesses," said Sean Kinghorn, Sustainability program lead for Intuit.
Just Energy said that Purely Green will include, "competitive pricing at Just Energy's lowest published price."
In the Oncor service area, Just Energy's Purely Green is offered as a 24-month or 36-month fixed rate.
In the Oncor service area, Just Energy's 100% renewable Purely Green 24-month fixed plan has an average all-in rate of 10.4¢/kWh at 1,000 kWh, reflecting a fixed, all-in energy charge of 10.4¢/kWh that does not vary by usage. A $175 early termination fee applies
