Green Mountain Energy Receives License In New State

The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio granted Green Mountain Energy Company an electric supplier license to serve all customer classes in all service areas.
Under prior ownership, Green Mountain Energy had been active in the early days of the Ohio retail electric market, but withdrew when, among other reasons, FERC rulings on SECA fees made the retail market unviable. Green Mountain Energy ceased serving Ohio load at the end of 2005 and its prior Ohio license was cancelled in 2006.
