Maryland City Launches Opt-In Aggregation With Retail Electric Supplier

CleanChoice Energy announced that it has been chosen by the City of Takoma Park, Maryland to supply residents and businesses with 100% renewable energy on an opt-in basis.
CleanChoice Energy said that the City of Takoma Park chose CleanChoice Energy based on an open RFP and by conducting research on rates, business reliability, and contract terms.
Per CleanChoice's website for the opt-in program, Takoma Park residents (Pepco service area) electing to join the program are currently offered a 12-month fixed, 100% renewable (99% wind, 1% solar) rate of 8.60¢/kWh. There is no early cancellation fee
