ERCOT Finds Unit To Be Mothballed Not Needed For Transmission System Reliability

ERCOT issued an initial and final determination that the Generation Resource City of Garland, Gibbons Creek Generating Station (GIBCRK_GIB_CRG1) is not required to support ERCOT transmission system reliability.

The Generation Resource may be mothballed according to the schedule in its Notification of Suspension of Operations.

On April 30, 2018, ERCOT had received a Notification of Suspension of Operations (NSO) for the Generation Resource City of Garland – GIBCRK_GIB_CRG1

The NSO indicated that the Generation Resource would be mothballed for a period of not less than seven (7) months and not greater than eight (8) months. The proposed effective date for the suspension is October 1, 2018.
