The following story is brought free of charge to readers by EC Infosystems, the exclusive EDI provider of EnergyChoiceMatters.com

The Connecticut PURA has authorized the continuation of the Connecticut Clean Energy Options program, under which customers can purchase RECs without changing their LSE, to the earlier of 1) the date the Authority approves a successor program, or 2) December 30, 2019.

PURA extended the Clean Energy Options program with all present suppliers at the same rate and terms

A replacement for the Clean Energy Options has been under consideration for several years. Given the lack of progress in adopting a replacement program, Sterling Planet and Community Energy had requested the Authority extend the current program through December 30, 2018, at the same rate and terms, with all present suppliers.

The REC marketers also recently asked that PURA create a working group to meet and recommend a successor program to the Authority no later than October 5, 2018.
