ERCOT has submitted as a sponsor Other Binding Document Revision Request (OBDRR) 007 for revisions to the Operating Reserve Demand Curve (ORDC) methodology to include Photo-Voltaic Generation Resources (PVGRs)

In the OBDRR, ERCOT stated, "Since it was implemented in June 2014, the Operating Reserve Demand Curve (ORDC) methodology specifically excludes curtailed Photo-Voltaic Generation Resources (PVGRs) in the determination of the ORDC price adders. Since that time, substantial MWs of PVGRs have been installed in ERCOT, a considerable amount of which is being curtailed on a regular basis. This Other Binding Document Revision Request (OBDRR) changes the methodology to consider the additional capacity."

In the OBDRR, ERCOT stated, "The change to the ORDC methodology will help to achieve convergence between Physical Responsive Capability (PRC) and the ORDC Real-Time On-Line capacity. These metrics are crucial for measuring scarcity in ERCOT under certain conditions and to that end should be closely aligned."
