Oncor Surcharge Rider Applicable To REPs May Expire Earlier Than Scheduled
The following story is brought free of charge to readers by EC Infosystems, the exclusive EDI provider of EnergyChoiceMatters.com
Oncor informed retail electric providers in a market notice that recovery of authorized expenses under Rider RS may occur earlier than the expected August 31, 2018 date
Rider RS – Remand Surcharge recovers remanded expenses approved in PUCT Docket No. 46884 (related to a remand of litigation over a prior discount provided to state universities). It became effective on November 27, 2017.
Rider RS remains in effect until the approved amount has been billed which was originally estimated to be August 31, 2018.
"However, because of reductions as a result of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 and increased usage due to a warmer than normal summer, the recovery of the remanded expenses has been accelerated, so the expiration of Rider RS may occur within the next two weeks," Oncor said in the market notice
Oncor will notify REPs when Rider RS expires.
For residential service, the Rider RS surcharge is $0.000332 per kWh
For Secondary Service Less than or Equal to 10 kW, the Rider RS surcharge is $0.000293 per kWh
