Pennsylvania saw the aggregate number of residential customers on competitive electric supply decline from late May to late July at a rate consistent with the monthly decline witnessed in May

The PUC did not publish stats for the month of June 2018. Stats for the month of July 2018 were recently published. The most recent stats had been for the month of May 2018

For the two-month period from late May to late July (reporting date varies slightly by utility), Pennsylvania saw the statewide aggregate number of residential customers on competitive supply decrease by 22,000 accounts. A monthly breakdown is not available.

However, for the two-month period, the loss of 22,000 residential customers on competitive supply is consistent with the single-month net loss seen from late April to late May, when Pennsylvania saw the statewide aggregate number of residential customers on competitive supply decrease by over 12,000 accounts for a single month. As previously reported, the net decline of 12,000 residential shoppers during May had been the highest monthly decline since a decline of 14,000 residential shoppers in August of 2017

For the two-month period of late May to late July, Duquesne Light was the only utility among the seven large EDCs to see an increase in residential shopping, with a net increase of just under 200 residential accounts on competitive supply.

PPL saw residential shopping decline by over 7,000 accounts from late May to late July, and PECO saw residential shopping decline by over 6,500 accounts from late May to late July

The change in the number of residential customers on competitive supply at each large utility from late May 2018 to late July 2018 (reporting date varies slightly by utility) was (two month change):

Duquesne Light 189
Met-Ed (2,668)
PECO (6,515)
Penelec (3,360)
Penn Power (438)
PPL (7,132)
West Penn Power (2,168)

For comparison, the change in the number of residential customers on competitive supply at each large utility from late April 2018 to late May 2018 (reporting date varies slightly by utility) was (single month change):

Duquesne Light 445
Met-Ed (2,102)
PECO (4,147)
Penelec (1,899)
Penn Power (514)
PPL (2,076)
West Penn Power (1,905)
