Massachusetts Mass Market Default Service Rate To Increase 25%

Fitchburg Gas and Electric Light Company d/b/a Unitil has filed with the Massachusetts DPU electric basic service rates for the period beginning December 1, 2018.

All rates reflect the application of the current Basic Service Cost Adder (BSCA) of $0.00570 per kWh. The BSCA typically changes effective December 1

With application of the current BSCA, the fixed basic service charge for residential customers (RD-1, RD-2) and Small General (GD-1) commercial customers is 13.104¢/kWh for the period December 2018 to May 2019. That's about 25% higher than the current rate of 10.556¢/kWh

Additional rates are below; the rates remain subject to DPU approval
