Brookfield Renewable Energy Marketing US LLC filed for eligibility as an ESCO in New York

Brookfield in its filing stated that it intends to offer energy products and services to large commercial, industrial and municipal customers.

As first reported by EnergyChoiceMatters.com, Brookfield Renewable also recently applied for retail electric supplier licenses in Maine and Maryland

In North America, Brookfield affiliates own a hydro and wind portfolio consisting of 8,300 MW located across 29 states and three provinces. Such portfolio includes numerous hydro plants in New York as well as the approximately 105 MW Carr Street gas-fired plant in Syracuse
