The FirstEnergy Pennsylvania utilities filed with the Pennsylvania PUC an update on their ability to bill hourly priced service through smart meters.

The FirstEnergy Pennsylvania EDCs reported that, "The Companies continue to deploy smart meters across their service territories per their Commission-approved Revised Smart Meter Deployment Plans. Deployment includes the necessary back office systems and processes to enable the functionality associated with smart meters. The ability for smart meter interval data to support billing hourly priced service continues to be scheduled to the production environments in the mid-2019 timeframe."
