Utility's Residential, Small Commercial Default Service Rates To Increase Over 40%

The New Hampshire PUC has approved new mass market energy service (default service) rates at Unitil for the six-month period beginning December 1, 2018, with the new rates over 40% higher than the current rates

Unitil's residential fixed default service rate, including the RPS adder, will be 11.689 cents per kWh for the six-month period beginning December 1, 2018. That's over 40% higher than the current rate of 8.238 cents per kWh.

Unitil's residential default service rate under the monthly variable option will be as follows (all rates include RPS adder):

Dec-18     $0.13655/kWh
Jan-19     $0.13156/kWh
Feb-19     $0.12052/kWh
Mar-19     $0.12096/kWh
Apr-19     $0.07985/kWh
May-19     $0.10022/kWh

For small commercial customers (G2 and OL Class), Unitil's residential fixed default service rate, including the RPS adder, will be 10.598 cents per kWh for the six-month period beginning December 1, 2018. That's over 40% higher than the current rate of 7.377 cents per kWh.

Unitil's small commercial default service rate under the monthly variable option will be as follows (all rates include RPS adder):

Dec-18     $0.10797/kWh
Jan-19     $0.13616/kWh
Feb-19     $0.13693/kWh
Mar-19     $0.09550/kWh
Apr-19     $0.07851/kWh
May-19     $0.07276/kWh

NextEra Energy Marketing, LLC will serve 100% of the requirements for Rate D, Rate G2, Rate OL, and Rate G1 Unitil default service customers for the six-month period beginning December 1, 2018.
